Hi all – before you read our great reviews here is a little bit of history on how I came to own Moorview. We, my two brothers and sister grew up living at the bottom of the hill at 5 St Dunstans Road. Mum from Plymouth and Dad a Yorkshire man (a sailor when they met). Eventually in 1958 Dad decided that we needed to move up North to his home town (no beach) to ‘get us all a good career’. He had high hopes for us!!
For me and Mum especially a huge part of us never left. As soon as I could I became a regular visitor. Fast forward here I am pursuing my dreams to come back. For now, I am happy to share Moorview with like-minded people looking for somewhere to relax and enjoy Salcombe too. I am pictured here with my Joanne who also shares and understands my love for Salcombe. We hope you will share our happiness too. Still ‘up north’ our good friend and neighbour Pauline looks after Moorview for our guests.

Here are some of the reviews we have had so far
Thank you so much Wendy for letting us stay in your beautiful bungalow! We have thoroughly enjoyed the comfort and warmth. So lucky with the sunny but freezing weather! You have thought of everything for a lovely holiday. We will be back and will recommend you to all our friends. xxxx
Andrea & Richard – November 2017
Thank you for letting us stay in your delightful home. We needed somewhere to stay while laying our boat up for winter and Moorview is a lovely, cosy, relaxing oasis to work from. When we got back feeling tired it was great to relax after a hot shower in warm and comfy surroundings.
Noel & Heike – November 2017
What a fantastic bungalow! It really has the Wow factor. We really enjoyed our stay in our favourite spot. Everywhere is so doggy friendly. We had a fantastic meal at “The Cott”, near Totnes and would highly recommend it. Also The Beach House on South Milton Beach if you can get in is fantastic. Thank you for a fantastic week.
Pell Family – October 2017
Wow! Wendy the bungalow is beautiful. Loved the conservatory. Very well equipped, you seem to have thought of everything. Max loved the dog bed!! Have had a lovely week. Walked from South Milton to Bigbury on Sea and saw Burgh Island. Have been to Dartmouth, lots of walks into Salcombe, walking up and down that hill is quite challenging!! A fantastic week would definitely recommend. Thank you.
Mark, Nikki and Max the dog – September 2017
We have had a wonderful holiday, the bungalow is very homely and relaxing. It is obvious a lot of thought has been put into everything that is required with a lot of extras supplied. We have visited North Sands, Hope Cove, Plymouth Hoe, Bigbury on Sands, Dartmouth, Steam Train to Paignton, walked around Snape Point. Thank you Wendy.
Fantastic stay at Moorview. Thank you so much. The weather so well for us with our three children and the weather kind allowing lots of fun on the beaches.
Caroline, Russell and Family – August 2017
Wow what a lovely house, absolutely everything we needed was here. We spent all of the time in the conservatory and on the deck – Lola, our dog loved it! Lovely dinner at The Winking Prawn, North Beach. Lovely coastal walk to Gara Rock from Mill Bay, Callum loved the boat across. So much going on in town. South Devon Chilli Farm was a great adventure. Lovely holiday to remember.

Our first visit to Salcombe was a most enjoyable experience at ‘Moorview’ we found the perfect holiday home which was fully equipped for every need with a wonderful conservatory where we could relax after our daily sightseeing. Salcombe has an abundance of lovely restaurants and ‘watering holes’ – Fore Street is full of designer shops with something for everyone. All in all, a most enjoyable holiday and we will definitely be booking again next year.

We have stayed at Moorview twice, a lovely bungalow, very spacious with a large conservatory, comfortable, great location with fantastic views of the Salcombe countryside and Dartmoor. The short walk into Salcombe provides you with fantastic views of Salcombe Estuary, and you can enjoy lots of lovely scenic walks and there is a fantastic bakery nearby. Moorview has everything you could possible need and is the perfect base to explore all that Salcombe has to offer. We had a very enjoyable time and never wanted to leave.

Moorview was just the perfect place for us. We have two dogs and it is difficult trying to find a property that allows two dogs but this house was super. Secure large grassed garden at the rear and great walks nearby. The house was lovely, bright and airy and the conservatory is huge. It gets all the sun and with the decking area it’s great for summer BBQs. Very well equipped and made our holiday so relaxing. Will definitely book again for next year Salcombe is a must!
